***UPDATE: I've narrowed things down a bit. Microsoft removed Xbox One compatibility/drivers from their updates, and the drivers are no longer available from their manual update downloads or from MajorNelson's website. I've already tried installing KB2685811 and KB2685813, but with no actual drivers available, that won't really help anyway. There is one website that some people have claimed has the drivers called TechSpot, but I've never heard of it, and when I looked into it, it apparently doesn't have a squeaky clean record with some users, so that's not gonna happen. But, I think might have found something that could lead to a workaround: on Microsoft update catalogue, after searching 'Xbox One Controller' they have 4 different downloads: 2 32-bit downloads, and 2 64-bit downloads; each one is a cabinet file, and inside includes 4 files: a .dll file, a security catalogue, a system information file, and a system file. I've tried going into device manager and browsing to the file that the catalog download was extracted to, but Windows claims that the device type is unsupported. If anyone knows how to get Windows to recognize a 'new' device type (short name 'Xbox Gaming Device') in device manager, so it will properly install the cabinet file or whichever ones are required, please let me know. I am not sure, so I'm not going to try it, but maybe someone could come up with a workaround with Windows > winsxs folder to add the cabinet file? I'm not going to try it without any guidance (I don't want to corrupt my PC). Thanks for reading, and any help provided would be very appreciated.
